Frequently asked questions
What does EQSC do?
EQSC supports education institutions through research, benchmarking, membership, assessments and commissioned consultancy. It offers certification and accreditation through the EQSC Recognition Pathway.
Who can become an EQSC Member?
Membership is intended for education institutions seeking research, practical resources and support for quality improvement. Our initial focus is engineering and management higher educational institutions. Eligibility and membership scope are confirmed before joining.
What does institutional membership include?
Membership provides access to the publications, briefings and practical resources included in your agreed package, a Member Directory profile and entry to the EQSC Recognition Pathway. Membership itself does not confer certification or accreditation.
How does an institution apply for recognition?
The pathway begins with membership, followed by eligibility screening and a baseline diagnostic. The institution then agrees its scope, prepares evidence and undergoes verification before an independent committee makes the recognition decision.
What does EQSC assess?
EQSC examines evidence against its published framework within the agreed scope. Reviewers use documents, data, dialogue and demonstrations to test institutional claims, identify strengths and gaps, and establish findings.
Does paying a fee guarantee certification or accreditation?
No. Fees cover the work undertaken at the agreed stages. Recognition depends on verified evidence and an independent decision; membership, consultancy or payment cannot purchase a favourable outcome.
Does EQSC recognition replace statutory approval?
No. EQSC certification and accreditation are private, voluntary recognitions. They do not replace government approvals, statutory accreditation, affiliation or professional permissions required for an institution or programme.
Can we commission a report for our institution?
Yes. EQSC can undertake defined benchmarking studies, institutional reviews, feasibility studies and original student, alumni or employer surveys. The questions, methods, deliverables, fees, confidentiality and publication rights are agreed before work begins.
Are fees refundable?
In some cases. Membership, accreditation and certification fees may be refunded under the agreed terms. Publicly displayed fixed-fee reports are non-refundable, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
How can we verify recognition or raise a concern?
Check the EQSC Recognition Webpage for the institution’s status, assessed scope and validity period. Membership is listed separately in the Directory. For a concern, complaint or eligible appeal, contact EQSC for the relevant procedure. Contact: appeals@eqscglobal.com
What is the difference between EQSC Certification and EQSC Accreditation?
Certification recognises a defined part of an institution. Accreditation recognises the institution as a whole within its assessed boundary. The key alignment is that an institution cannot obtain EQSC Accreditation by selecting only certain programmes, departments or campuses within a larger institutional entity. Accreditation must cover the institution as defined and verified for the assessment; otherwise, Certification is the appropriate route.EQSC Certified: Example Institute of Technology - B.Tech Computer Engineering. Valid until June 2031.EQSC Accredited: Example University. Valid until June 2031
